Here is my progress so far. I’m having a lot of fun stitching it!
The colors are a little brighter in real life, but I used a scanner rather than a camera because I wanted to get better detail on the flowers in the green band on top. These really challenged me and I had to pull three of them out and redo them to be happy. I’m still thinking of redoing the Blanket Stitch Pinwheel over on the right, but I’ll let it be right now and see if it grows on me.
The flower stitches from left to right are:
- Straight Stitch Flower
- Bullion Knot Flower
- Stumpwork Berry (a bunch of french knots)
- Rhodes Circle
- Stem Stitch Rose
- Blanket Stitch Pinwheel
This will be finished up as a envelope type thing for finishing. I keep reading the finishing instructions over and over in the leaflet and feel like I’m finally starting to get it. Finishing work that involves any sort of sewing totally intimidates me!
Thanks for looking!
These stitches are lovely!

I hate reading instructions to learn finishing…and it’s so much easier once you’ve actually done it!
